The Good Companions Tour 2019

The 2019 Good Companions Tour

The Holy Island of Lindisfarne

This year’s Good Companions Tour took a number of club members to The Blacksmiths Arms at Talkin, Cumbria as they headed to the SRE National Rally in Peebles. After an evening of good food (beer too) and catching up with old friends they headed across to The Borders via the Roman Wall, Falstone and Kielder. The second part of this ‘Book End’ tour was based at an old favourite, The Auld Cross Keys, Denholm. From there, there were visits to Jedburgh, Heatherwslaw Light Railway at Cornhill on Tweed and a wonderful day spent visiting the tranquil Holy Island of Lindisfarne – rest assured safe crossings were made each way over the causeway! The name of this tour is apposite; it can only be what it is because of those who attend and take part. If this sounds like something you would enjoy then watch out for information on next years tour on the website, forum and in the R.Memoranda.
